see you soon

by Richard MuNiz

half a year stuck at home

hoping you’re not alone

different day, same routine

empty stares on bright screens

could still picture the last good day

before all the months slipped away

tomorrow’s not promised, they said

so these are the things left unsaid

you’re my wish that never came true

still, i’d do anything for you

keeping my notifs always on

in case you need me, dusk till dawn

and when I listen to folklore

the songs make me miss you more

unlike false starts and paper towns

promise I’ll never let you down

you recently had your birthday

hoping you spent it in the best way

praying the leaves fall into place

so we could all have better days

now it’s done; our coming-of-age

so It’s time for a fresh page

but I’ll still spin around your galaxy

‘cause you pull me in like gravity

I just want to know you better

even if takes forever

never thought I’d write again, yet here we are

never thought I’d see daylight, we've come so far

you’re a once in a lifetime blue moon

hope you’re well and fine, see you soon

I just wish that this never ends

‘cause it’s better now that we’re friends
